The Vedas form the highest religious authority for all aspects of Hinduism.
The Vedas are not revealed for a particular section of persons /person. It is believed to have existed and was apprehended by sages in deep meditative states before c.1500 BCE.
These Vedas are rendered orally and passed from Guru to Shishya in the so-called Veda Patashala. Kings send their children to learn the Vedas from Gurus. For instance, Dasarath sent his two sons to Vishwamitra to learn the Vedas.
Pronunciation plays a major role in learning the Vedas from Gurus. They used to perform in front of the king’s courts.
The Vedas are therefore regarded as Shruti, Shruthi (what is heard), and Smrithi (what is remembered) and account for a key role in the Vedas.

- Rig Veda
- Sama Veda
- Yajur Veda
- Atharva Veda
Again, these are divided into types of texts, including them.
Aranyakas – rites , ceremonies
Brahmanas – writings on said rituals
Samhitas – benedictions prayers, mantras
Upanishads philosophical narratives and discussions

Importance of learning Vedas

All respective Governments should take the initiative forward to start Vedas as a part of all school curriculums. At a young age, they will be familiar with the rituals, ceremonies, and tales related to performing them.
