There are many shastras in ancient India. Among the shastras, the Vastu shastra plays a key role in the architectural designs of temples in ancient India.Vastu is a science developed some centuries ago for designing temples, buildings, workplaces, etc. We can see traces of Vastu in our epics also.
In the ancient epic, Vishwakarma, who has architectural knowledge used in the construction of the wax palace (Lakshagraha), Vastu shastra is dependent on five basic elements like water, air, fire, earth, and sky to create a pleasant setting. The Vastu principles incorporated into architecture boost health, wealth, energy, and prosperity, making the living atmosphere serene and inspiring.
Sky ( west) marks expansions and enhancements, ( East) marks satisfaction and happiness, Agni ( south) prosperity and power, Water ( North) convalescence, spirituality, and at last Earth ( Centre) vitality, harmony, and tranquillity

A building designed with Vastu principles affects the individual spiritually, physically, and physiologically.
Physically vastu affects the lives of a person providing them :

- pay attention to ventilation, colour, material, element, and direction
- It brings harmony and fulfilment.
Psychological benefits via Vastu in the form of well-being, inwardly and outwardly improving relationships, reducing tension, and improving health. The one who is in quest of harmony at home then follows vastu principles and constructs a home to achieve spiritual peace.
Importance of Vastu Shastra
We know that Vastu links man to nature. The essential elements are earth, Agni, sky, air, and water, which can only be found on the earth.
If a house is not constructed by Vastu principles, then humans face a lot of problems like family problems, financial problems, and so on. But if you follow these principles and construct the house accordingly, then you will definitely get a sense of living in heaven.
