Mahagauri (Ashtami Avatar)

देवीमहागौरी ।
श्वेते वृषे समारूढा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः ।
महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेवप्रमोददा ॥
Mahagauri (the wife of Lord Shiva, doing great penance)
The eight-day of Navaratri is observed as Mahagauri and is worshipped across the country by Hindus. Mahagauri means the first phrase, Maha stands for Great, and the second phrase means fair or luminous. Lord Shiva went into the forest to meditate after he lost his companion, Devi Sati. He went to do Gora Tapasya, leaving all worldly affairs for many years.
A demon called Tarakasura has started to trouble the gods. At the request of the gods, Devi Sati has been reborn as Maa Shailputri, daughter of the Himalayas. To bring back Shiva and relieve the Gods from demons, she also started a severe penance for several years to get noticed by Shiva. Finally, he noticed her dedication. He came back to his normal life. Meanwhile, Maa Parvati lost the radiance on her face with all kinds of dirt. He washed away all the dirt from her face with Ganga tied in his hair.
AVATAR
Due to her glow and radiance, Maa Parvathi came to be known as Mahagauri. She wears a white coloured saree, rides a white bull, and holds a Trishul lotus and a drum in each of her hands. while her fourth hand is used to bless her devotees. She represents the purity and inner beauty of every living being. She takes care of her devotees and helps them overcome obstacles in their lives.
Colour: Purple,It signifies the power of intellect and peace. Mahagauri fulfils all the desires of her devotees.
Flowers: The beautiful and eye-catching Arabian jasmine, or mogra flower, is offered to worship Maa Mahagauri on the 8th day of Navratri by Hindus.
Prasadam: Garellu (wada), lemon juice flavoured ginger pieces are offered. In the north, people offer items made of jaggery.
